As members of The Renaissance Company, students will continue their exploration of dance terminology, history and techniques. Students will explore their discipline through technique-based classwork in director-recommended classes, as well as through the practice and performance of choreography for musical theatre. Within this course of study, members of the Renaissance Company will continue with the structure of learning that leads to strong foundations of dance education. They will, within this ensemble, exit this program with an advanced understanding of rehearsal and class standards, dance terminology and technique, and understanding of dance as a story-telling technique.
The Renaissance Company will continue to develop their dance technique through director-recommended technique classes. Upon acceptance to the Renaissance Company, each student will be evaluated by the Director of Dance and be provided an individualised list of recommended dance classes. From this list, students are required to select a minimum of (1) dance class to attend. The cost of this class is included in their training tuition. Additional dance classes are highly recommended for each company member and can be taken for additional cost.
